BuiLD — 12-Week Program
Releasing Tension Is Only the Beginning
Getting your horse to release tension is an important first step. But for horses who struggle with posture, balance, strength or how they organize their body in movement, releasing tension alone isn't enough. The real work begins when we help your horse learn to use their body differently.
Why BUILD?
When a horse has been holding tension and compensating for a long time, their body has adapted. Muscles that should be working aren't. Others are overworking to compensate. Movement patterns become habitual — and tension keeps returning because the underlying way the horse uses their body hasn't changed.
Bodywork addresses what the horse is holding. BUILD takes the next step: pairing that bodywork with individualized movement work designed to help your horse develop better body awareness, begin building strength and start moving in healthier, more sustainable patterns.
- Tension keeps returning because the root cause — how the horse uses their body — hasn't changed
- Muscles that should be working are often switched off after long-term compensation
- Bodywork alone can only do so much without movement work to reinforce the change
- BUILD pairs nervous-system-led bodywork with targeted movement to create lasting improvement
Who Is BUILD For?
BUILD is designed for horses who need more than tension release. It may be a good fit if your horse if:
- Struggles with posture, topline, or core engagement
- Has difficulty with balance, straightness, or even movement
- Shows recurring tension or stiffness that keeps coming back
- Is recovering from injury and needs to rebuild strength and movement quality
- Has been told they need to "build muscle" but hasn't made progress with exercise alone
- Moves in a way that feels disconnected, heavy, or uncoordinated
BUILD is not a starting point. Horses typically begin with an Initial Bodywork & Assessment before moving into BUILD. This ensures we understand what your horse is holding and what they are ready for before adding structured movement work.
Your Role Between Sessions
BUILD only works if the movement work continues between my visits. You, the owner, are an essential part of this program. I will teach you exactly how to perform each exercise with your horse, either in person during a session or through video guidance so you can follow along at home.
The exercises are designed to be straightforward and manageable. You don't need a background in equine fitness or training. You just need to be willing to show up consistently for your horse. Renee will make sure you feel confident in what you're doing and why.
- Exercises taught in person or by video — whichever works best for you
- Clear guidance on how to perform each exercise correctly
- Exercises adjusted as your horse progresses throughout the 12 weeks
- No prior equine fitness experience required
How the 12 Weeks Work
Build isn't a rigid Week 1–2 exercise plan. Your horse determines the progression.
Every horse comes into BUILD at a different starting point. Some need several weeks of foundational work before they are ready to progress. Others move more quickly. Trying to follow a fixed timeline ignores what the horse is actually showing us and that's not how lasting change happens.
Instead, BUILD is structured around three bodywork and PEMF session spaced across the 12 weeks, with movement work built around what your horse is ready for at each stage. After each bodywork session, we reassess — what has changed, what is still holding, and what the next phase of movement work should look like. The plan evolves with your horse.
Assess + Prepare
We start with what your horse is showing us now. Renee will reassess posture, movement and determine which exercises are appropriate to introduce. The goal isn't to throw a bunch of strengthening exercises at your horse. It's to start where their body is ready to start.
Develop + Progress
As your horse becomes more familiar with the exercises, the work will gradually progress. Exercises may focus on areas such as body awareness, mobility, balance, core engagement, thoracic sling support, pole work or strength — depending on what your horse needs. Bodywork and PEMF continue throughout the program to support the body as the demands begin to change.
Reassess + Move Forward
Toward the end of the 12 weeks, Renee will look at what's changed. How is your horse standing? How are they moving their body? What's becoming easier? Where might they still need support? From there she'll determine what makes sense next — whether that's continued movement work, ongoing bodywork and PEMF support, or simply a maintenance plan appropriate for your horse.
Throughout all 12 weeks, the exercises you do between sessions are what make the difference. The bodywork opens the door. The movement work is how your horse walks through it.

- You should be willing and able to perform your horse's recommended exercises consistently between appointments

Ready to Help Your Horse Move Better?
BUILD begins with an Initial Bodywork & Assessment. If you haven't had one yet, that's where we start. If you've already worked with me and think BUILD might be the right next step, reach out and we'll talk through whether it's a good fit for your horse.
